Benefits of Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is a medicinal shrub with yellow flowers and a potent root known for its use in traditional wellness practices. It grows in warm climates in regions of India, the Middle East, and parts of Africa and is often referred to as “Indian Ginseng” or “King of Ayurvedic herbs.” Ashwagandha has been used in traditional health systems for thousands of years. As an adaptogen, it is believed to help the body respond to occasional physical and mental stress. It contains naturally occurring compounds such as withanolides, which are known for their antioxidant properties.

Ashwagandha contains alkaloids, steroidal lactones, and saponins. It has been widely used across Indian and Pakistani wellness traditions and is recognized in Chinese medicine as well. Known as the “Prince of Herbs” in Ayurveda, its roots are used internally, while its leaves are used externally. At Organic Mushrooms, we offer Ashwagandha in extract powder, capsule, tincture, and gummy form.

Here are some benefits associated with traditional use of Ashwagandha:

  • Used traditionally to support mental focus and clarity
  • Helps support a sense of relaxation

Ashwagandha is a nutrient-dense root that can be used as part of a wellness routine. It is generally recommended not to exceed 1 gram per day for up to three months. Each of our capsules contains 500 mg of Ashwagandha extract. One gummy or tincture dose equals 1 gram of extract. Half a teaspoon of powder is approximately 1 gram.

As with any supplement, consuming more than the suggested amount may lead to temporary side effects such as upset stomach, drowsiness, or nausea. Please consult your healthcare provider before using any new supplement, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medications, or managing a health condition.
